Gorrick MBC events looking forwards

by Jane Lucas, 15 Apr 20.

We hope you and your families are all healthy and managing ok during the lockdown. We are working from home or furloughed from our day jobs and so are concentrating on keeping fit and well and getting out on our bikes when we can. No one knows yet when the restrictions will be eased, but these are the events we would like to run (if possible) up to the end of the year...

Gorrick Statement Reference Upcoming Events

by Jane Lucas, 19 Mar 20.

In light of what the government & health officials are now saying about gatherings of people, we have done the responsible thing and cancelled both the Bishops Way on 18/19 April and the Hot MTB Challenge due to be held on Sun 3 May.

We are, however, hoping that the worst will pass soonish and we'll aim, for now, to run TORQ in your Sleep as usual on the August Bank Holiday weekend (30th). We all need something to look forward to. In the meantime our best wishes to you all, and look after yourselves.

Gorrick Hot & Cool MTB Challenges 2020 - Sun 3 May & Sun 11 October

by Jane Lucas, 08 Mar 20.

Organised by our experienced, friendly team, these are timed, choice of distance, fully supported, marked route off road mountain bike events through Hampshire and Wiltshire. All routes always include a particularly memorable section of swooping twisty singletrack through beech woods which just seems to go on for miles...

Skedaddle Spring Classic at Area 51 - Results and Photographs

by Paul Howard, 01 Mar 20. Results [  ] Photos [ 1» ]

Finally, the weather blessed us with good conditions for racing under sunny blue skies on a fun course. The hard work the trail team has put in over the last month was very evident as we continue to invest in Area 51; extending the parking area, surfacing new routes through the "mire" which was previously a no go area, and creating some new descents was all worthwhile. So it was a pleasure to see the categories well supported providing close racing. Review your results and photographs from the links above. Big thanks to our sponsors Saddle Skeddadle and Bounce Balls UK for the prizes, and Mountain Trax for the race number boards.

Our next events are on the Calendar. We're looking forward to something a little different on the 18/19 April The Bishops Way 100 mile gravel/mtb ride with overnight camping. Check out the website for full details.

CANCELLED: Skedaddle Spring Classic XC 1 on 16 February

by Jane Lucas, 13 Feb 20.

Well we tried, but sadly we're going to have to cancel the first XC Classic event planned for this coming Sunday, due to the high winds and rain forecast. If you have pre-entered we will email you.

Hopefully we'll make it to Crowthorne Wood later in the year. In the meantime our next Spring XC Classic event will be on Sunday 1 March at Area 51, Frimley Green, Surrey.

Spring XC Classic 1 POSTPONED TO SUNDAY 16 FEBRUARY at CROWTHORNE WOOD

by Jane Lucas, 06 Feb 20.

The weather forecast for Sunday 9th February has been showing gales across the country with the likelihood of some damage to buildings and trees. As public safety is of paramount importance, the Crown Estate has decided to close The Great Park and adjoining land on Sunday and we wholeheartedly agree that it is the correct thing to do....
