Merida Brass Monkeys Series - The Winter Warmer - Sunday 28 January

by Jane Lucas, 16 Jan 18.

Hot on the heels of the New Year Hangover, we'll be returning to Minley for the Winter Warmer, the last round of this year's Brass Monkeys Series headline sponsored by Merida and supported by a raft of other sponsors. As you'll know if you were at Minley at the weekend, it's a very popular venue especially chosen for its suitability for mountain bike enduro racing at this time of the year. You can expect another 5 to 6 mile course which will be perfect for the prevailing conditions and will be different from Round 2.

Although there are trophies for the fastest, these events are also personal challenges where you choose how long you want to ride for, and then finish as many laps of the course as you can before your time is up.

Registration opens at 08.00 for the collection of number boards and the START TIMES are:

  • 10.00 (finishing 12.00) All 2hr riders including Juniors (aged 14-17).
    Podium: about 12.10.
  • 10.10 (finishing 14.10) All 4hr riders including Single Speed riders.
    Podium about 14.20.
  • 10.20 (finishing 13.20) All 3hr Male Grand Vet riders and Fat Bike riders.
    Podium about 13.30.

The event will have full facilities, including a marquee HQ and quality catering. There'll be trophies to be won at each round and also for the Series, plus lots of spot prize goodies. Full event details are at www.meridabrassmonkeys.com and the Series Points update from Round 2 are live.

THE BRASS MONKEYS EVENTS ARE ENTERED BY PRE-ENTRY ONLY here and entry will close late on Wednesday 24 January. You can see regular event and course updates on The Brass Monkeys Face book and on Twitter@Gorrick.
