TrailTrax Itchen Valley Results

by Jon Lucas, 05 Jun 07. Results [  ]

Sorry for the delay in publishing the results, Paul who looks after the website has been away racing in Wales at the weekend.

After last weeks Bank Holiday nightmare weather wise, it was a joy to welcome back the sunshine for our annual visit to The Flower Pots Inn at Cheriton. Many a pint of the new Flower Pots ales was quaffed as the temperature soared to 25c whilst riders recovered from their exertions on an easyish course (some would argue this point) around the South Downs.

There were six clearances during the day. The fastest of these from Gary Shipp and Paul Smith in 2 hours 23 minutes, who clearly had the route and the navigating completely sorted, with the legs to make it all happen. Father and son Andrew and Matt Probert topped the very well attended 120 Family category with an excellent score of 1250 and many riders in all the other categories recorded their best scores of the year. Everyone returned on time to enjoy the Barbeque and the Prizegiving courtesy of Mountain Trax, who have just moved to superb new premises in Barkham just outside Wokingham. Have a look at their website to check out the details and the new address.

Our next TrailTrax is on SATURDAY 30th June at Swinley Forest, Bracknell Road, Bagshot, Surrey. This is the first time we have used Swinley for this type of event and it has over 12 square miles of forest for you to hunt down the checkpoints. We are therefore offering a TrailTrax Special with a choice of two different types of event. There will be a Standard event or a Sprint event:

The STANDARD event will be 2 hours long in which you ride to as many checkpoints as you can.

In the SPRINT event you can try to get to all 20 checkpoints, in any order, in the quickest time possible within a maximum of 3 hours.

The choice is yours! We will be using pre-marked checkpoint maps for this Special, so all you will need to do is turn up and ride and then enjoy the post event barbeque and refreshments. Online pre-entry and hardcopy entry forms will be available very soon.
