Final Gorrick TrailTrax of 2013

by Jane Lucas, 23 Sep 13.

Just a reminder that the last mountain bike orienteering event of this year’s TrailTrax Series takes place on Sunday 29 September at Hannington, nr Tadley, Hants. The event is based at the Vine public house (postcode RG26 5TX) which has a large garden and conservatory and serves great food and drink. If you arrive at the Event HQ by car, we would be grateful if you would follow signs to the overflow car parking that is a short walk away, so as to leave space for the pub's regular Sunday customers.

Hannington is elevated above most of the surrounding countryside, sitting between Basingstoke and Kingsclere, and has a great selection of off road tracks heading in all directions, including the Test Valley to the South and Watership Down to the West.

The event is for riders of all ages and abilities as, based on a pre-marked map, you decide your route and how many checkpoints you will visit in either 2 or 3 hours. You do not have to have done all the Series.

Online pre-entry will close late on Wednesday 25 September - please bring your receipt with you if you do pre-enter. Otherwise, as with most Gorrick events, you can just turn up and enter on the day. As you relax after your ride, socialise and enjoy the pub’s tasty food and drink, some great prizes will be awarded for a range of categories from our event sponsor Mountain Trax of Wokingham. For those of you competing in the Series, you can check out the current points listing here and the Series presentations will complete the Prize Giving.
