Gorrick events looking forwards

by Jane Lucas, 30 Jul 20.

We hope that you're all fit and well and that lockdown wasn't too tough. As we're easing out of it, we've been planning to ensure that we can run some lower key events within the current guidelines, giving priority to the safety of all riders and staff. This has led to some amended events with restricted numbers of riders taking part.

TORQ Breakout: Saturday 29 – Monday 31 August at Area 51, Highlands Farm, Frimley Green, Surrey, GU16 6HT

We'll be breaking out with a bespoke mtb endurance event sponsored and supported by TORQ Fitness. Entry is full with a Waiting List

'The Bishop's Way' bikepacking mountain bike/gravel bike event – Saturday 12 – Sunday 13 September

We're facilitating this event for Heath*Trail*Bike*Camp. Starting on the outskirts of Reading, Berks over 2 days you'll ride 90 miles (Sat 50/Sun 40) of sweet off road trails linked by roads, through Berks, Surrey and Hants following a circular GPX route. There's camping at HQ on Friday night if you need it. The ride is self-supported, with plenty of shops and cafes along the way. If you're not a bikepacker - where you carry all your kit with you on your bike - no worries, there's camping kit porterage with the charge going to the local charity My Cancer, My Choices

Entry is inclusive of dinner on Sat and breakfast on Sun, refreshments, drinks and private secluded overnight woodland camping on Sat night. ENTRY is restricted and there's just a handful of places left.

Gorrick Autumn Equinox - Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 September - at Area 51, Highlands Farm, Frimley Green, Surrey, GU16 6HT

As we head into the Autumn we're going to keep things simple and safe, so we'll be running another bespoke mtb XC endurance event but with different choices of riding times, fully risk assessed and with social distancing to the fore. Expect a great course which will be different to that used at TORQ Breakout easy spaced parking at the venue close to the Arena, unique trophies, spot prizes, tasty catering, commentary, toilets and our photographer. DETAILS & ENTRY WHICH HAS JUST OPENED. Strictly pre-entry only.

Run over the weekend, on the Saturday there'll be riding for 3 hours (From 9am) and on the Sunday riding for 1.5 hours (from 9am) and 5 hours (from Noon).

Riders will be strictly limited and will be in pods of 20 in each time bracket and the categories, with podiums, will be: Under 40s, Over 40s, Over 50s and Female. Sorry, but at this time, entry will have to be strictly by online entry only with no refunds. Should things change before then, we can be more flexible and will open up more places.
