Preview: TrailTrax - Sunday 8th June

by Jon Lucas, 02 Jun 08.

It's almost summer, so it's time for our annual TrailTrax visit to the Flower Pots at Cheriton. It's a glorious place, nestled in the Itchen Valley just off the South Downs Way between Winchester and Alton. Sunday 8 June 2008 is the date, and the weather forecast looks good after the recent rain, so conditions should be perfect.

This area of the Valley and Downs offers a great ride for both those who are looking for a challenging workout or those who want a gentle morning ride around the area. You choose how many checkpoints to visit and decide what route you want to take. Start times are from 8.45am to 10.30am for the 180 minute schedule and from 10am to 11am for the shorter, family friendly 120 minute schedule.

The Flower Pots brews its own beer on the premises and always puts on a great Barbeque for us, so there's lots to look forward to on your return - as well as the traditional prize giving courtesy of our sponsor Mountain Trax. Full details are elsewhere on the website and remember you can still pre-enter ONLINE until Tuesday 3rd June when all pre-entries close, otherwise there will be entry on the day available as usual. We look forward to seeing you there.

  • Online entry - closes 3rd June
  • Venue location map - Take the B3046 from either Alresford or the A272. On entering Cheriton village turn west into the minor road to the pub. Lot's of parking is available in the camp field right next to registration.
