Surrey Hills TrailTrax Results

Tilford south of Farnham was the venue for the final TrailTrax of 2009 taking in the varied terrain of the Surrey Hills from the heathland commons of Frensham, Hankley and Thursley to the rocks and gulleys of the Devils Punchbowl. Riders were treated to great trail conditions if you knew how to avoid the sand with just the lightest of mizzle falling to dampen down the dust. But did anyone notice what a glorious end to the day it was for collecting in the checkpoints under a bright warm sun? Oh just me then! You may have rode or saw some trails that were fun so why not come back to the area with your map and explore. The Gorrick Team regularly ride round here and can highly recommend the challenging trails all around the Devils Punchbowl.
With the exception of a couple of very fast and navigationally efficient riders who cleared the course in astonishing times there was close competition in all categories. Positions were separated by a mere handful of points or little more than a minute here and there. You can see for yourself all the results and positions via the Results Link above this item. Our thanks go to so many of you for attending the prizegiving which was as ever supported by Mountain Trax of Barkham near Wokingham who provided over £400 worth of product prizes.
The Gorrick season is by no means over as we look forward to plenty more events ranging from XC races to Enduros and marked route rides. Full details and online entry is available elsewhere on the website.
