Gorrick TrailTrax orienteering events 2010 - Wellington College 11.4.10

by Jane Lucas, 29 Mar 10.

This year Gorrick we will again be running three TrailTrax events (orienteering on a bike!), so here are the dates for your diaries:

  • SUNDAY 11th April @ Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berks
  • SUNDAY 8th August @ Flower Pots Inn, Cheriton, Hants
  • SUNDAY 3rd October @ Tilford Institute, Tilford, Surrey

It's been a while since our last TrailTrax mountain bike orienteering event, but the first of this season gets under way on Sunday 11th April 2010 at Wellington College Sports Club in Crowthorne, Berkshire. It is a delightful setting with a bar selling real ales and snacks, and is centrally placed to give great access to the local area of the Blackwater Valley. Early arrivals can also enjoy tea, coffee, juice and our fabulous home-made cakes, whilst marking up their maps and plotting strategy. There are plenty of categories to suit all ages and abilities, solo or pairs, male or female, experts to families. Full event details for the year including venue postcodes and details of how to take part can be found on this website and online entry at www.mbsawebsite.com.

You can enter either online NOW for any or all of the above (if you do please bring along your MBSA receipt on the day), but please note that pre-entries for the first event will close on Tuesday 6th April. However, as with all Gorrick events, you will be able to enter on the day at a £2 surcharge. Registration is open from 8.30am and Start times are from 8.45 to 10.15 for the 3 hour event and from 10 to 11 am for the easier 2 hour schedule. Please note that no riders will be able to take part after these times, as Prize Givings must take place at 1.35pm. Once again we are delighted that Mountain Trax will be providing the fantastic prizes for this year’s events - you can check them out at www.mountain-trax.com or visit their shop at Barkham near Wokingham.
