Preview: TrailTrax Navigator - Hampstead Norreys, The Wessex Downs

Sunday 10th July sees Round 3 of the 2011 TrailTrax mountain bike orienteering Series, generously sponsored by Mountain Trax of Wokingham ( www.mountain-trax.com ). Based at Hampstead Norreys Village Hall, just a few minutes north east from the M4 junction at Newbury. The area promises a wealth of tracks and trails along the Pang valley and on the edge of the Berkshire Downs.
Sid Hardy will again be laying out the checkpoints and, as ever, the ambiance and facilities will be second to none including complimentary tea, coffee or juice whilst you plot your strategy. Afterwards there will also be a chance to purchase assorted snacks and drinks whilst you rest, chat and wait for the prize giving.
Each rider will receive a pre-marked map with the checkpoint positions. There are plenty of categories to suit all ages and abilities; solo or pairs, male or female, experts to families. Full event details, how to take part and online entry, which closes late on Tuesday 5th July, can be found on this website. If you do enter online, please remember to bring along your MBSA receipt on the day. Entry on the day will be available at a £2 surcharge.
Registration is open from 8.30am and Start times are from 8.45 to 10.15 for the 3 hour event and from 10 to 11 am for the easier 2 hour schedule. Definitely no starts after this time, so that we can get the Prize Presentation underway at 1.35pm.
