Last Gorrick TrailTrax 2015 - Sun 20 Sep at Cheriton
by Jane Lucas, 10 Sep 15.
Our last mountain bike orienteering event of this yearís TrailTrax Series takes place on Sunday 20 September at Cheriton in the Itchen Valley near Winchester. The event is based at the picturesque and always very popular Flower Pots Pub and Brewery (postcode SO24 0QQ), which is the centre of some great riding, has a large garden and always lays on a great barbeque for us.
If you've been riding the Series, you can take a look at the current points table here and as you can see, there are lots of contenders for the Series prizes.
Sponsored by Mountain Trax of Wokingham our friendly TrailTrax events have been running for many years and can be ridden solo or in a pair or family/friends group. Once you have registered you are given a waterproof map with 20 check points marked on it that have various points values. You then decide how many you are going to visit in your 2 or 3 hour time slot. You can either race or pace, itís entirely up to you, but donít be late back or you will lose some points! Your time doesnít start until you check out with the Starter and so taking your time to plan your route well is the way to success. Each event stands alone, as well as being part of the Series, so you can ride whichever ones you choose, or ride them all and try to secure enough points to win your category.
Once you are back, you can relax and socialise after your ride and enjoy the pubís food and drink, before some great prizes, courtesy of Mountain Trax, are awarded at the prize giving for a range of categories.
More information and online pre-entry is on our web site HERE with pre-entry closing late on Tuesday 15 September but, as with most Gorrick events, you can just turn up and enter on the day. Any pre-event updates will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
