Who could have asked for a better October day; warm sunshine, dry trails and a moonlit sky for the night races. A new concept in mountain bike racing A Hard Day's Night pitted riders speed and endurance over two races, one during daylight the second in full darkness.

Champions crowned and new rivalries forged

The penultimate round of the south's premier XC series saw titles decided and new rivalries forged on a real mountain bikers course at Surrey Hill. Five miles of dry singletrack, rooty downhills and a mini downhill course with jumps tested even locals, with many trails being run backward to add variety.

Round 5 of the Southern XC series kept up the tradition of yet another fine hot day at the racers old favourite Surrey Hill.

Southern XC Round Five stops off at Surrey Hill on Sunday September 4 for the penultimate race of the series. Hosts, Gorrick MBC, are promising a fantastic course, using some new sections of the forest with fast swoopy singletrack, plenty of space for overtaking and a great short course for the younger riders as well.

Our friends at Summit Racing are hosting a team XC relay race on Wednesday 24th August to round off the first season of evening races on the Deangarden Wood course, High Wycombe. Here?s a chance for clubs, bike shops, racers, club riders and families to take part and race on the acclaimed course.

Exodus Spring Series round 5 race report

The final round of the Exodus Spring Series organised by Gorrick MBC took place on Sunday at Deepcut where - despite recent rain across the south - was dry; much to the disappointment of those who had packed the mud gear and didn't bring any alternative.

The Exodus Spring Series finally came to a close at Porridge Pot Hill, Deepcut today on a course described by many as 'classic Gorrick'. There were steep ups and twisty downs on the dry course with not a single puddle in sight considering the heavy rain during the week.
