Gill 100 Enduro - updated with latest news
by Jon Lucas, 28 Apr 05.
Update
Sunday 1 May 2005 at Swinley Forest, Rapley Farm, Bagshot, Surrey
The course for this Sunday's enduro will be broadly similar to last year's, and will include the expert mountain bike area and all the classic singletrack out towards Crowthorne Wood. It has stood up well to the rain, and with the forecast for a hot, dry weekend should be in perfect condition for the event. Please do remember though that there will be no practising or pre-riding of it on the day.
It is also very important that riders remember to bring plenty of water for all their needs for the day, as it could be hotter than they expect and there is no drinking water on site. An area will be set aside just alongside the track (after the lap scoring) for the storage of drinks, food, clothing, bits & bobs etc. There will be catering all day right up until the last rider finishes, and plenty of trade stands.
The entrance to the venue will be signed from the A322 Bagshot to Bracknell Road. We are expecting a big entry and, as always, entries on the day are available but please arrive in good time for your start. See you there.

Just a reminder that before the last round of the Spring Series there is our annual Enduro event which is the big one in the south of England.
For those of you who haven't done one with us before, it isn't so much a race as a personal challenge. You choose how many 10 mile laps that you will do from either 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7 and then you get on your bike and do it, at your own pace and in your own time. If you complete it, then you are presented with either a plaque or a certificate as you finish. Although not a race everybody will be timed as usual, and we do of course acknowledge the rider who manages to do the full 100km in the fastest time - and for those of you who fancy the title Jamie Newall tells us, that after three consecutive wins, he'll be abroad and so not able to defend it this year!
There are also lots of other great prizes from our sponsor Gill clothing plus all the usual facilities, catering, trade stands and even a masseur. It's a great day and always buzzing so why not give it a go if you haven't already? You just need to remember to bring extra water with you especially if it's quite hot. As ever full details are on our web site.
Hope to see you there, and don't forget you've then got the Bank Holiday the next day to rest up!
