Autumn Race News
by Jane Lucas, 12 Aug 05.
Hello, hope that you are all enjoying your riding this summer. We have just been able to finalise our cross country events for this Autumn and they are:
Sunday 4 September Round 5 of the Southern XC series to be hosted by Gorrick MBC at Surrey Hill, Bagshot Road, Bracknell, Berks.
There has been some great racing so far in the Series, and with only two rounds to go there is everything to ride for at this popular venue. Despite it being part of a series it is, of course, open to all and riders of all ages and abilities are welcome. There will be all the usual facilities and faces. An entry form can be downloaded from the calendar page as can a map. Don't forget to check your race time as these events differ from our normal events!
Saturday 15 October 'A Hard Day's Night' event at Porridge Pot Hill, Deepcut, Surrey. Sponsored by EXPOSURE lights.
This is an event for all of you who, after the evening races of last year, asked us to do more! So we are, and at what has been voted your favourite venue. The event will comprise short course racing for different abilities firstly in the afternoon and then again after dark in the evening. Times will then be combined to produce the winners. Exposure are putting up some fantastic lights for a 'be there to win them' killer prize draw and also some great prizes. There will be all the usual facilites and also some live entertainment in between the racing. An entry form will go up on the website soon and will be available in your local bike shop next month. Don't forget this event is on the SATURDAY and not Sunday.
Sunday 13 November Gorrick Autumn Classic at Crowthorne Wood, Crowthorne, Berks. Sponsored by Motion Fitness.
It's back to normal for the last event of the year with our usual visit to this classic venue. As before there will be full facilities and we always see some great racing here - will 'The Corkscrew' be in it?! Spot prize personal fitness sessions courtesy of Motion Fitness are up for grabs too. A downloadable entry form will be on the website soon on the calendar page and will be available in your local bike shop next month.
We'll let you know by e-mail when full details and entry forms are available for the latter events. Enjoy the rest of the summer.
