Surrey Hill played host to a stunning turnout of riders and a really great buzzing atmosphere. The course was described by many as hard but fair, a real mountain bike race course that tested enough so your legs will feel it in the morning... Tuesday morning! Our thanks go to Pete Radband and co. for stepping up to direct the team in laying out all 5.2 miles after some of the crew were sidelined by flu and mostly bedridden this weekend.
Veteran rider Andy Defrates (944) won the cycling holiday to Spain courtesy of Exodus Travels in the prize draw which was open to all of today's participants aged over 18. Exodus will be providing more holiday prizes at future rounds.
We don't have the final outcome from the University Varsity match (Cambridge v Oxford) but they took it seriously enough as one rider was found laying on the course with exhaustion. Though judging by the results Cambridge looked to have stamped their authority on the podium places.
Guy Swarbrick and Mike Keynes have taken plenty of action shots so take a look at their websites via the hyperlinks above. Buy a high-res image of yourself to show off to your friends and colleagues what you do on a winters weekend.
The team from Roehampton Institute have been carrying out very detailed analysis on women riders at our events completing their investigations today. We will publish their findings when available, it should make interesting reading.
Round 3 is in only three weeks time at Crowthorne on the 11th March, get your pre-entry in now by paying online at MBSA.
