Damp Rabbits in the Warren & Beyond 2002

by Paul Howard, 13 Oct 02.

The sad events that led to our last minute change of venue for the Gorrick 10 Little Brother need no explanation. The police have asked if anyone who rode at Yateley particularly around the end of March/early April 2002, just before our Spring Series event there, has any information to get in touch. The police were at Heath Warren today handing out leaflets and hoping you can rack your brains to assist them.

Damp Rabbits in the Warren

The refurbished and extended course was in great shape with new sections of singletrack and even some semi-North Shore bridges straddling ditches. We owe our thanks to Mark Ranger from Berks On Bikes for spending many hours clearing the trails after extensive logging work left very little intact.

Well it seems like the Autumn weather finally hit us this weekend with the rain nicely damping down the dust but leaving some slippery exposed roots to catch out the unwary, but hey, that's mountain biking! And there were plenty of smiling but muddy faces at the finish.

Our final event of the year is a return to Crowthorne Wood on the 10th November.

Beyond 2002

Looking towards next year, we have provisional dates in place and hope to have an organisers meeting soon, so that we can confirm these before the results are posted for our November event. Whilst we are on the subject of results, we intend to go fully electronic on mailouts by next summer, which will help to keep costs down and make information more available. If you have an email address please make sure you print clearly on the entry form or send it to us with your name and address to info@gorrick.com. If you haven't access to a computer don't worry as an SAE will still get your results to you!
