Heath Warren report, Rumours, Provisional dates
by Paul Howard, 28 Oct 02. Results [ 1» ]
We always seem to talk about the weather, but you were there and you still enjoyed the racing. We'd like to think that the improvements to the course are good, and we will be making more before we return in the Spring. As we are restricted to using one route for this venue, we would particularly like to thank Mark Ranger for all his efforts over the last 3 months. Following some extensive forestry work, he's been helping us by rebuilding bridges and clearing single track and on the day he finished 7th in the Fun! We would also like to thank Mark Wheatley & his team from Ambush Adventures for accomodating our race route through the middle of their paint balling area... did anyone receive a direct hit?
Rumours, rumours, rumours
You may have heard a variety of rumours about the future of your sport, in particular the SAMS series. Good news on this one, there will be a southern race series next year, but it may be different in format from previous years. As far as Gorrick goes we will be running a Spring Series as well as other events, for which details are currently being worked on. Yes, there almost certainly will be a calendar of next years mountain bike events. Remember if you want the facts contact the organisers but remember it takes time to confirm events as we usually wait for National dates and venues to be confirmed.
