Spring Series Round 2 now at Tunnel Hill
by Jon Lucas, 05 Feb 08.
So now the music has stopped and we are sitting on Tunnel Hill. Yes, that's right the venue we lost for the Exodus sponsored Spring Series Round 1, has been secured for Round 2! This is partly because there have been problems at Surrey Hill where giant pipeline works have been delayed thus cutting our proposed course in two, and partly because we had put such a great course together and wanted to use it!
So Sunday 17 February 2008 will see us at the very popular Tunnel Hill venue close to Mytchett on the outskirts of Farnborough in Hampshire. We expect another 600+ turnout of XC riders from all over the country. Pre-entry will be open until Tuesday 12th February and then there will be entry on the day at the usual £2 surcharge. There will be full facilities and lots more Series points up for grabs too. Just to add extra interest to the day Cambridge and Oxford Universities will battle it out for their annual varsity match, going off just after the Sport riders.
Thank you once again to all of you who turned out for Round 1, despite the late changes that we had to make, and so made it the great day out that it was. We hope to see you all again on the 17th where there will be fewer hills and lots of fantastic new singletrack to make a course quite different from other visits there. At present under tyre conditions are very good, and by comparison to DERA last week there is far less mud and standing water.
