How great is it to be back racing at Tunnel Hill? Answers on a virtual postcard please. If you remember the Spring Series race in February that was cancelled due to 6 inches of snow falling the night before, this was the course planned for then. And wasn't it ace? Superb singletrack down and up, enough open sections to stretch the legs, and although not 'hilly' those little leg burners get to you after a few laps. As for the conditions; sublime, sunny, blue skies, very chilly first thing. Even hanging around in the arena as many spectators and families did was a pleasure if you stayed in the sun. The trails were running at their very best with just a couple of puddles to splash through, making for fast racing on the 5 mile lap. Check out the results and photographs via the links above.
The clothing manufacturer Endura is title sponsor for the Autumn Classics and some lucky people won jackets and jerseys. You too could be in with a chance at Round 2. Which brings us nicely to Crowthorne on the 11th November. This is the GORRICK 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of event organisation. So we have some very special things planned including a Retro bike race in the afternoon with a big prize pot available. Because of this the RACE TIMINGS WILL BE CHANGED with the usual afternoon races now in the morning. Full details to be published shortly. Do you have any old photos from Gorrick races back in the day? Contact us by email and let us know as we'll have a display board to see what bikes looked like 20 years ago.
