SCOTT Gravity Trail Enduro Round 1 - Loamy Fun in the Sun

A great day was had at the Scott Gravity Trail Enduro on the swooping loamy trails of Area 51 near Frimley. For those not familiar, the format of four stages ridden three times each gives a total of 12 timed stages. All race run times are added together for a total - simply put the fastest total wins. The saying "every second counts" rings true as even hundredths of a second might be all it takes to be on the podium, or to just beat your buddy. The beauty of the format allows riders to race individually, or to hoon down the trail in a "train" leading to much whooping and hollering. Gorrick resident photographer Kevin Sheldrake endeavoured to capture every rider at some point and you can view his photos via the link above.
Our great thanks to the headline sponsors Scott Bikes UK and Vittoria Tyres for the podium prizes and event support, and Mountain Trax for onsite mechanical support. Thanks also to the marshals for sitting out at the stages. Finally to all the riders who made for such a fun chilled out vibe, with plenty of laughs, thrills and spills along the way.
Next up for Gorrick is the Hot MTB Challenge marked route ride on the 14 April, and on the 18 May the Kawasaki G100 XC Challenge.
