TrailTrax results

What a wide range of scores our competitors achieved at todays TrailTrax orienteering ride. Ranging from an honourable 600 points to a somewhat more lowly -700, yes that is negative! But you all seemed to enjoy the riding, despite the poor weather, finding the checkpoints hidden in some typically devious positions.

On arrival back at base it was very entertaining hearing riders say "I couldn't find checkpoint X", followed by someone else piping up "I found that one, no problem!" Obviously searching skills are as important as riding and navigational ability.

Congratulations to all the category winners, especially the highest scorers with 600 points; Martin Foad and Richard Kendall (Berks On Bikes) who clocked up nearly 54km in the 180 minutes category.

Full results are published here.

Clare from Mountain Trax, our sponsors for this event, handed out the prizes including some random spot prizes, in the comfort of the Skittle Alley at the Toad and Stumps Pub. Thanks to the owners John and Michelle for turning up the heating, and laying on barbecued food, mulled wine and of course beer.

We plan to host similiar events in 2003 so keep an eye on the website for more details, or submit your email address for our mailing list.

Have a great Christmas and New Year,
The Gorrick Team
