TrailTrax Blackwater Valley - Results
by Paul Howard, 15 Mar 09. Results [ 1» ]
A fine and warm spring day greeted the enthusiastic navigators to the picturesque grounds of Wellington College to kick off the first of three TrailTrax for 2009.
Judging by the scores Dave Truby who laid out the checkpoints got the balance just about right with half a dozen clearances, mostly all within the time cut-off. Grand Veteran Julian Hemsted took the honour of the fastest to complete a clearance in 2h 48m, with Graham Hildyard snapping at his heels one minute later. You can view all the final results via the link above this item and no doubt many of you have been studying the map for hours on end figuring out a better route. Well there's plenty of time to work on map reading skills and improve your speed on the bike before the next event on the 9th August in the Itchen Valley at the very popular Flowerpots Inn - which provides a good navigational area close to the South Downs. Why not make a weekend of it and stay Saturday night in their camping field, we certainly will be.
Finally many thanks as ever to Mountain Trax for supplying £100's of prizes. The store is in Barkham, south of Wokingham, only 5 miles from Wellington College so next time you're in the area pop-in to have a look around.
