Gorrick TrailTrax Series 2015 starts Sun 19 April @ Cliddesden, Hants
by Jane Lucas, 14 Apr 15.
What is a TrailTrax?
If you haven’t ridden one before, our friendly TrailTrax events have been running for many years and can be ridden solo or in a pair or family/friends group. Once you have registered you are given a waterproof map with 20 check points marked on it that have various points values. You then decide how many you are going to visit in your 2 or 3 hour time slot. You can either race or pace, it’s entirely up to you, but don’t be late back or you will lose some points! Your time doesn’t start until you check out with the Starter and so taking your time to plan your route well is the way to success. Each event stands alone, as well as being part of the Series, so you can ride whichever ones you choose, or ride them all and try to secure enough points to win your category.
Where is the first one?
Sponsored by Mountain Trax of Wokingham our first event of this year’s TrailTrax Series takes place in The Candovers on Sunday 19 April . HQ is at The Jolly Farmer pub Farleigh Road, Cliddesden, Hants, RG25 2JL. It’s a superb pub with a very pleasant beer garden. The Candover Valley and the River Itchen, south of Basingstoke offer a wonderful variety of tracks in scenic surroundings. Once you are back you can relax and socialise after your ride and enjoy the pub’s food and drink, before some great prizes, courtesy of Mountain Trax, are awarded at the prize giving for a range of categories. At the last event there are Series prizes too.
