A glorious spring day greeted riders for round 2 of the Skedaddle Spring Series at Frith Hill. It was a gem of a course with elements of Decembers Brass Monkey Enduro but with some sections run in reverse. There were plenty of twists and turns, and more exposed roots than usual so you had to concentrate all the way round...
Gorrick Skedaddle Spring Series 2 - Sunday 13 March - Frith Hill
by Jane Lucas, 07 Mar 16.
Pre-entry closes Tuesday 8 March for Round 2 of our Saddle Skedaddle XC Spring Series on SUNDAY 13 March at Frith Hill. That’s our fun venue with the large hard standing car park right next to the Start area that gives good access to the course for spectators and mixes things up nicely for riders with a mix of gravel bashes, swooping singletrack and some tricky bomb holes (with B lines!) to challenge the unwary...

Crowthorne Wood was host to Round 1 of the Saddle Skedaddle Gorrick Spring Series. What a fine day it turned out to be as 100's of keen racers lined up ready to test their legs and lungs in earnest for the first XC race of the new season. Yet again the Gorrick Team excelled themselves to create a 4.6 mile lap that introduced trails old and new...

Merida Brass Monkeys R3 Frimley Green - Results and Photographs
by Paul Howard, 17 Jan 16. Results [ 1» ] Photos [ 1» ]
Finally, a proper Brassy Monkey, with a light dusting of snow. The long awaited New Year Hangover race finally took place at "Area 51", a new venue thanks to a local landowner. The trail building team had done an amazing job readying a course that although it only measured 4.5 miles was suitably challenging and average speeds were somewhat slower than usual. There was so much fun flowing singletrack that really kept you on your toes. As sections bedded in some just got better and others just got slippery with 100's of tyres and gradual snow melt.
All the final Series podium presentations were made and we'll have a full list of winners to follow soon. Our grateful thanks as ever to Merida Bikes for the wealth of prizes, Four4th Lights for the trophies, and all the other sponsors for making these events happen. Later in the week the final series points will be published so see how you fared overall. Kevin Sheldrakes photos are now online. Thanks to all the riders for supporting the Brass Monkeys, because without you crazy fools it wouldn't happen. See you on the 7th February for Round 1 of the Spring Series, entry is open.

**MERIDA BRASS MONKEYS 3 POSTPONED to 17 January**
by Jane Lucas, 01 Jan 16.
Our apologies, but after working at the venue today, we have had to make the very difficult decision to postpone Merida Brass Monkeys 3 until SUNDAY 17 January. It's not a decision that we've taken lightly but, in our experience, with the large amount of (universally) predicted rain due to fall from now until Sunday afternoon we don't think riders will have a quality riding experience and we don't want to cause any damage to the venue either. The event will go ahead exactly as planned but on Sunday 17 January instead, so if you are entered you still are. We're sorry, but even with the postponement, we're unlikely to be able to take any more entries. We're all gutted and apologise once again for any disappointment that this causes.
